The CCIU Learning Center is expanding educational opportunities with new career and technical education programs

The Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) Learning Center announces the integration of comprehensive Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs into its curriculum, marking a significant expansion of educational opportunities for Chester County students. This innovative program combines personalized academic support with hands-on technical training in ten high-demand career paths.

The new CTE programs at the Learning Center will provide specialized training in a diverse range of professional fields. Currently, students can enroll in cosmetology, culinary and horticulture. Additional programs are coming soon, including auto service, construction trades, hospitality and technology. Each of these initiatives will allow students to investigate different career paths while building foundational professional skills.

“This integration is a transformative step in our mission to provide a well-rounded education that prepares students for success in the real world,” says Hillary Soring, director of the CCIU Learning Center. “By combining our proven approach to individualized learning with hands-on career training, we create pathways to success for every student.”

The half-day program structure allows students to pursue technical training while completing their academic requirements. Upon completion, students will graduate with both a high school diploma and a certificate of technical proficiency, positioning them for immediate employment or continuing education opportunities.

Learners receive hands-on technical training in state-of-the-art facilities, complemented by individualized academic support. Students will have opportunities to gain industry certifications and participate in work experience programs. Throughout their education, they will develop professional skills essential for success in the workplace, all while benefiting from the supportive environment of the Learning Centre.

The new program is designed to meet Chester County’s growing demand for skilled workers while maintaining the Learning Center’s commitment to individualized and supportive education. Students will benefit from small class sizes, experienced instructors and the Learning Center’s established approach to meeting diverse learning needs.
