Huawei wants the “theft and fraud” charges dismissed.

Huawei has asked to dismiss the theft and fraud charges from the American court. The company claims that these the allegations are part of a “baseless initiative” to target Chinese companies with the aim of a hindering their progress.

Huawei is asking the US court to dismiss the theft and fraud charges

As many of you know, the US started this story right back in 2019. The situation has gotten worse since then, however. Various bans and blocks issued have prevented Huawei from using not only Google services, but also technology made with the help of US technology.

Over the years, this has forced Huawei to find alternatives and slowed the company’s progress. Huawei has been right at the top of the smartphone market globally. It was right in line with Samsung and Apple before this happened.

Many argue that Huawei would claim the number one spot and only continue to progress if not for the US ban. The US initially cited national security concerns, and things have only gotten worse since then.

Huawei has always maintained that it is innocent. He argued that the US has no evidence that technology secrets were stolen because it never happened. “The government approached Huawei as a prosecution target in pursuit of a crime,” Huawei said.

The trial date is set for January 5, 2026

The company also added that most of the theft allegations relate to activities “outside the US.” The US vs Huawei case has been given a trial date of January 5, 2026.

Huawei’s founder recently said that while the US ban hurt the company, it forced her to build her own technology. In a way, this benefited Huawei as it made the company more self-sustaining. Huawei had to innovate.

Things would be a lot easier for Huawei if the US ban were lifted, though, needless to say. Jumping through hoops like this certainly hasn’t been fun for Huawei, as there are still no perfect solutions for some issues.
