Taking Riverton from Stormy. Daniels takes it at Donald’s expense

For as many excavations as Stormy Daniels went in on President-elect Donald Trump, the “orange elephant in the room,” the biggest round of applause the adult film star and director has received in months over her own political affiliation.

“People ask, ‘Why are you still a Republican?’ Why didn’t you change?” Daniels said during her 50-minute comedy show that took place at The back room in Riverton. “Because it drives (Republicans) so crazy, and I’m so petty.”

Not that Daniels was thrilled about Tuesday’s showdown between Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.

“How are those our only options (for president)?” Daniels refuses. “It’s the hypocrisy of the whole thing.”

Daniels’ alleged affair with Trump in 2006 led to his conviction on 34 counts of falsifying business records as part of a conspiracy to illegally interfere in the 2016 election.

A Manhattan judge said he would issue an opinion on Trump’s request to overturn his conviction and either order a new trial or dismiss the case.

Trump has denied the sexual encounter.

Trump, Daniels pointed out, called President Joe Biden “Sleepy Joe,” but “(Trump) falls asleep at his own trial, unless I was on the stand.

When Daniels decided to go on tour doing standup, some comedians got angry, she admitted.

“We all know I do my best job laying down,” Daniels said. “It’s a lot more fun.”

Daniels said after the show that comedians like Kathy Griffin encouraged her effort.

The Copenhagen Bandit, one of two comedians who opened the show for Daniels on Monday, said he wasn’t averse to Daniels “jumping the threshold” comically.

“When it comes to standup comedy,” said the Joplin, Mo., performer, “the only thing you need is to make people laugh. I think she’s very good at it. He has a lot of funny stories.

“Comedy is different than it was. We have a lot of famous people doing it (now) and if they want to come and get in on it, that’s a beautiful thing.”

All comedians donate, after costs, proceeds to local veterans groups.
