A person dies in the fall at UCSD’s Geisel Library

UC San Diego’s Geisel Library has reopened the day after an unidentified person died in a fall from the library’s eighth-floor stairwell Nov. 6. Triton the campus newspaper reported.

The fall occurred around 11:35 a.m., according to the Tritonand campus police and library workers closed the library and evacuated patrons.

The university said the case does not pose a threat to the campus community.

UCSD’s Office of Psychological and Counseling Services accepted emergency appointments in light of the death, the campus newspaper reported.
