Dolphins vs. Rams: MNF best bets, odds and predictions

Week 10 of the NFL season will conclude with the Los Angeles Rams taking on the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football. Kickoff at SoFi Stadium is set for 8:15 PM ET. Depending on your source, the Rams either opened as .5 point favorites or 1 point favorites.

However, the line has changed to make them 2.5 road favorites on many of the best sportsbooks in michigan.

Miami has dominated the series all-time, winning 12 of 14, including the last five. The Rams beat the Dolphins once when the franchise was in St. Louis. They have played three times since the Rams moved to Los Angeles, and this will be only the second time Miami has flown into the country to face the Rams.

Wins on MNF hard to come by for the Dolphins

At 2-6, there is no margin for error for the Dolphins. They cannot afford to lose any game they have a reasonable chance of winning. With a relatively healthy roster (assuming Tyreek Hill is active), the Dolphins are capable of competing with Matthew Stafford and the Rams and beating them.

But there’s one thing Miami can’t do anything about that’s working against them — terrible luck on Monday Night Football.

Over the years, the Dolphins have played at MNF 88 times, making tonight’s game the 89th, which is more than any other team in the NFL. What is their track record?

43-45.

They lost on Monday Night Football earlier this season in Week 4, 31-12, to the Tennessee Titans. The last time Miami won a game on Monday Night Football was in the 2021 season, a 20-3 win over the New Orleans Saints in Week 16. It was Tua Tagovailoa’s MNF debut; went 19-26 for 198 yards, a touchdown and an interception.

Betting odds Dolphins vs. Rams

There’s been quite a bit of movement in the lineup over the last week, but it’s back to where it was a week ago, with the Rams favored by 2.5 points.

With Hill’s status in limbo, the public hasn’t been too eager to get behind the Dolphins. Only 29% of money line tickets came to Miami and only 17% of the handle (+118 via Caesars Sportsbook). More than half of the points differential (56%) and hand (51%) tickets came on the Rams (-2.5).

Punters don’t seem to be expecting a high-scoring game with 69% of tickets at UNDER (49). However, 51% of the handle is on OVER (48.5 pr BetMGM sports betting).

History also works against the Rams

While the Dolphins haven’t had the best luck on Monday Night Football, the Rams haven’t fared well against Miami over the years or in MNF. As mentioned earlier, the Dolphins have won 12 of the 14 games in the series and will take a five-game winning streak into tonight’s game.

However, the two teams didn’t make much history during the Sean McVay era. Since he has been the head coach of the Rams, they have played Miami once, which was the last time these two teams played, in Week 8 of the 2020 season. Miami won 28-17 despite only getting 93 yards passing and a touchdown from Tua Tagovailoa.

The Dolphins got a special team and a defensive touchdown to help them win the game.

As for how the Rams fared on Monday Night Football, they went 35-40, including a 20-21 record on the road, and lost five of their last ten. They will carry a three-game MNF losing streak into tonight’s contest.

Betting prop Dolphins vs

Kyren Williams rushing yards O/U 84.5 to -115/-115 (BetMGM sports betting)

Williams has surpassed that mark four times, but only once in his last three games. Miami’s run defense ranks in the top 15. The Dolphins haven’t let a running back gain more than 56 yards since their quarterback week. Take SUB.

Longest reception Tyreek Hill O/U 25.5 Yards -120/-110 (BetMGM sports betting)

Tyreek Hill has just six receptions of 20+ yards to his name this season. But that’s more due to Tua’s injury and lack of competent quarterback play. The Rams defense ranks 27th in the NFL after giving up 30. Take the OVER.

Prediction Dolphins vs. Rams

Now that he’s healthy, the Rams offense is starting to click. The Dolphins defense may slow them down at first, but once Matthew Stafford, Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp find a rhythm… While Miami hasn’t had a great season, the offense has looked solid the past two weeks.

Not having Tyreek Hill will make it tough, but Miami’s offense can be explosive without him.

Our pick: Over 48.5 to -110 at BetMGM Sportsbook
