MIH Megatrends 2024 kicks off, showcasing Malaysia’s leadership in healthcare innovation

Malaysia International Healthcare (MIH) Megatrends 2024, a gathering of around 1,500 players in the healthcare industry, kicked off today at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Organized by the Ministry of Health (“MoH”) Malaysia, in collaboration with KPJ Healthcare and with the support of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (“MCMC”), it was organized to showcase the latest advances and trends shaping the future of healthcare.

On the opening day, more than 1,500 attendees, including healthcare professionals, policy makers, industry leaders and members of the public, gathered to explore cutting-edge solutions and advancements in the healthcare sector.

Dato’ Sri Suriani binti Datuk Ahmad, Secretary General of the Ministry of Health Malaysia (“MoH”), opened the event with welcoming remarks, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in promoting healthcare. This set the stage for a series of impactful discussions and presentations that highlighted the potential for future-ready healthcare solutions in Malaysia.

Keynote sessions on the first day featured distinguished speakers including Dr Tullawat Pacharapha, Chief Operating Officer of Vejthani Hospital, Thailand, who discussed healthcare transformation and patient care, and Professor Meong Hi Son, Medical Information Officer at Samsung Medical Centre, South Korea. These sessions collectively highlighted the importance of innovation in improving patient outcomes and streamlining healthcare delivery.

Beyond professional discussions, MIH Megatrends 2024 offers the audience a dynamic experience. The Action Hub invites visitors to interact with healthcare influencers and experience the latest product demonstrations, while the Innovation Health Tech Zone showcases digital advances such as AI-based healthcare and telemedicine. These commitments highlight the practical benefits of technology to the public, making cutting-edge healthcare more accessible.

Public activities include health screenings, blood donation and holistic health consultations, with family-friendly activities such as educational projects in the Children’s Zone and appearances by Didi & Friends, ensuring the event is engaging for all ages.
