Man seriously injured in a home burglary

A man was seriously injured after being attacked by two thieves in his own home, police said.

Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for witnesses after the incident in Tenby Road, Keynsham, at around 01:30 GMT on November 3.

The victim told police he opened the door for two men, who entered the property and assaulted him before leaving with alcohol and mobile phones.

Paramedics attended the incident before police were called at around 03:00, the man’s condition worsened after he was admitted to hospital.

Police described him as in critical but stable condition at the hospital.

Descriptions were given of the two suspects, with the first offender described as aged in his 30s, white and clean shaven with brown hair. He was dressed casually and wore blue jeans.

The second was described as a white man in his early 20s, around 6ft tall and slim, with black hair. Police said he was dressed in black and wearing a mask.

Sgt Nina Wilson said: “We have carried out a number of rapid inquiries and now we need the community’s help to find those responsible.

“I would like to reassure people that there is no evidence to suggest any wider risk to the public. If you have any information, dashcam or other footage that could help the investigation, we want to hear from you.”
