The incident happened just before the school day ended at Marya Yates Elementary School on Allemong Drive in Matteson, police told ABC7.

The suspect, a 26-year-old woman who works as an aide at the school, allegedly grabbed an 8-year-old student who was running in the hallway, Matteson police said.

A news release from Matteson police said the student was allegedly “hung to the ground. The teacher’s aide dragged the child about 20 feet into a classroom. She dropped the baby partially in the doorway. The nurse used her foot to forcefully push the baby into the room as she tried to close the door she failed so she went into the room and again used her foot to push the baby further into the room so she could close the door

The student, who reported no injuries, filed a complaint. School officials then investigated and reviewed security footage of the incident.
