India beat South Africa by 61 runs in Durban, go up 1-0 in the series

IND vs SA 1st T20I Live Score: Welcome to ABP Live’s live coverage of the first T20I between India and South Africa of the four-match series in the Rainbow Nation. The IND vs SA series opener will be played at Kingsmead in Durban and India will be led by Suryakumar Yadav while South Africa will be led by Aiden Markram.

Interestingly, the IND vs SA T20I will be a rematch of the 2024 T20 World Cup Final in Barbados, where India defeated South Africa to win their second T20 WC title. South Africa will have revenge on their minds when they take on the Men in Blue.

The Proteas come into the series on the back of a 2-0 Test series win over Bangladesh in their recent away tour. Their last T20 International match was in September against Ireland in Abu Dhabi where the series ended in a draw.

India enter the series on the back of a 3-0 Test series defeat at home to New Zealand. However, the squad traveling to South Africa features players who were not part of that Test series as they focus on preparations for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India’s last T20I series came against Bangladesh at home where they massacred the visitors 3-0.

The Suryakumar Yadav-led side is expected to maintain a similar combination in their Game 11 with a few changes forced due to injuries. Riyan Parag, Mayank Yadav and Shivam Dube will miss out, paving the way for debutants Ramandeep Singh, Vijaykumar Vyshak and Yash Dayal to make their first appearances against the Proteas. Sanju Samson will be looking to build on his remarkable century against Bangladesh which contributed to India’s total of 297 runs.
