Ada County, ID (CBS2) — Samson Allen The young man who went viral after a Meridan police officer knocked him to the ground and kneed him on the neck was in court Friday.

According to court documents, Allen expressed his right to a speedy trial and changed attorneys, clearing the jury trial that was scheduled to begin Nov. 13.

Allen is scheduled to return to court on Dec. 19, when the court is expected to set a new date for his trial, but his parents hope the court will drop or dismiss the misdemeanor charge entirely.
