Rock Falls teenager charged with attempted murder at Sterling Pizza Ranch

STERLING, Ill. (WIFR) – A 17-year-old Rock Falls boy is facing multiple charges in connection with the shooting of a Pizza Ranch employee in Sterling.

The unnamed teenager is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, burglary and unlawful possession of a stolen firearm.

The suspect was arrested around noon on Nov. 8 and taken to the Kane County Juvenile Detention Center, Sterling police reported.

The shooting happened around 8:00 PM on Wednesday, November 6th at Pizza Ranch, 3900 E. Lincolnway in Sterling. Witnesses reported that one person was shot and the suspect fled. Before officers arrived, police say employees and customers fled the restaurant, while some barricaded themselves inside. The suspect was not found at the scene.

First responders say the victim, a 17-year-old Pizza Ranch employee, was shot in the neck. He was taken to CGH Medical Center and later released.
