HBO Shuts Down ‘Euphoria’ Cancellation Rumors Before Season 3: ‘Absolutely False’

Don’t worry fans, “Euphoria” isn’t going anywhere.

HBO reps on Friday shot down rumors that the show’s third season has been delayed or even canceled, calling them “absolutely false.” The rep added that production on Season 3 is still on schedule to begin in 2025.

HBO announced in July, “Euphoria” was set to begin production on Season 3 sometime in 2025 — filming was previously delayed in March, at which point the cast was given permission to pursue other opportunities.

But on Friday, news broke that Zendaya has joined Christopher Nolan’s next filmhis still-secret sequel to “Oppenheimer” due for release in the summer of 2026. This sparked rumors that “Euphoria” season 3 was a dead letter, as the Nolan project will likely shoot in 2025.

But not to worry, according to HBO.

The main “Euphoria” cast, including Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow and Hunter Schafer, are still expected to return to the series.

“I am thrilled that we are ready to begin production on ‘Euphoria’ in January,” Francesca Orsi, HBO’s executive vice president of programming and HBO’s head of series and movies, said in July. “We couldn’t be happier with our creative partnership with Sam and this incredible cast. We look forward to bringing this new season of ‘Euphoria’ to life for fans.”
