Texas Attorney General Paxton slams Biden’s immigration policy

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has scored a significant legal victory against the Biden administration’s controversial immigration policies.

A federal judge issued a permanent injunction against the Biden-Harris administration’s “Parole in Place” policy, which sought to provide a path to citizenship for more than a million illegal immigrants.

This decision comes after Paxton led a coalition of 16 states, along with legal representatives from America First Legal, to challenge the policy adopted by the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The court found that DHS did not have the legal authority to grant “parole” to people who are in the United States illegally, saying such actions run afoul of established immigration laws.

Paxton expressed his determination to address what he called the current administration’s “radical attempts” to undermine America’s sovereignty and legal framework.

“This illegal parole scheme would have rewarded over a million illegal aliens and encouraged millions more to enter our country,” Paxton said.

He further emphasized the importance of maintaining the integrity of US immigration laws and stated, “I look forward to the day when the federal government starts following the law again.”

Gene Hamilton, executive director of America First Legal, echoed Paxton’s sentiments, condemning the Biden administration for its continued efforts to weaken the immigration system.

Hamilton remarked, “The states rose. And today, the great state of Texas and the brave Ken Paxton succeeded in stopping an illegal program that would have granted amnesty to hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens.”

As the Biden administration faces yet another legal setback, the decision highlights broader implications for immigration policy as it heads into a new political era.

With Donald Trump poised to take the presidency once again, this victory could signal an imminent shift toward stricter immigration enforcement, reflecting the sentiments of many American voters frustrated with current policies.

The battle over immigration is far from over, but with leaders like Paxton at the helm, there appears to be a renewed commitment to upholding the rule of law and protecting the nation’s borders.
