ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) – After reviewing the latest forecast data, the First Alert Weather Team declared on Saturday, November 9, a FIRST WEATHER DAY ALERT.

Rain totals of 1-6 inches are expected across most of Central Louisiana between now and Monday morning. There is also a chance for isolated or scattered rainfall totals of 6-10+ inches of rain for portions of the region (shaded in yellow).

This high amount of rainfall could cause major problems on the roads on Saturday. Impacts are expected to be amplified due to the already saturated ground. Some locations in Cenla have already received 5+ inches of rain in the last seven days.

The Weather Forecast Center also agrees with our forecast. They raised the local flood risk to a moderate risk on Saturday, which is a level 3 out of 4 on the local flood risk scale.

A Flood WATCH will go into effect on November 9 for almost all of Cenla. Even if you are not under a flood watch, you may still experience the impact of widespread rain.
