UAE weather: Red alert issued as heavy fog continues to blanket most parts of country – News

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a red alert on Friday as foggy conditions in the UAE continue. A red alert means residents should be extremely vigilant as conditions may become severe.

The weather department has advised residents of deteriorating horizontal visibility, which may decrease further at times in some coastal and inland areas by 9.00am.

As the UAE transitions into winter, the weather is starting to get comfortable along with the temperatures diving. With winter just around the corner, the UAE is facing foggy conditions morning for the last daysleading the authorities to reduce speed limits for driver safety.

In a post on X, Abu Dhabi police asked drivers to be cautious due to reduced visibility during the fog. Motorists are urged to obey the changing speed limits displayed on the electronic information boards.

Today will be slightly cooler, with the temperature rising to 37°C, lower than yesterday’s 38°C. The mercury could be as low as 17 °C in inland areas.

While foggy conditions were forecast in various parts of the country this morning, today’s weather is expected to be generally fine and partly cloudy at times.

Wet conditions are expected overnight and will continue into Saturday morning with a chance of mist or fog forming in some coastal and inland areas.

Light to moderate winds are expected in the country.

The sea will be weak in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of ​​Oman.
