HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — An investigation is underway after one man was shot and killed and another hospitalized following a shooting in southwest Houston Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Houston Police Department, the shooting happened around 4:10 pm in a vehicle in front of a Wells Fargo bank at 10005 Beechnut Street.

Authorities say four people, including two men, a woman and a little girl, were inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting.

Two men were shot; one was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was taken to a hospital, according to police. The woman and small child, who were in the back seat of the car, are safe.

SkyEye was over the area on Beechnut Street where several law enforcement vehicles were seen.

Police say a caller stated he did not know who was shot after hearing shots fired outside the parking lot.

Police say no one is in custody.
