Former licensed counselor gets 28 years in federal prison for child sexual exploitation

A former licensed counselor in San Antonio was sentenced to nearly three decades in federal prison for child sexual exploitation.

Adrian Scott Warren, 47, was charged with sexual exploitation of a child and possession of child pornography. He pleaded guilty to the first count and was sentenced to 28 years in federal prison.

Warren will also serve a lifetime of supervised release after prison. He was also ordered to pay $140,840 to the victim at the center of the sexual exploitation allegation and $100,000 to up to 20 additional victims whose images Warren possessed.

According to court documents, Warren sent a private message through a dating app to an undercover FBI profile. That conversation moved to a messaging app where he stated that he was interested in “young man”.

Warren also said she had had sexual contact with a child since the age of seven. He also told the undercover agent that he wanted to meet to engage in sexual activity and to view child sexual abuse material (CSAM). He also offered to bring the victim with him to the meeting, court documents say.

In August 2022, Warren traveled to a hotel where he believed he would meet a nine-year-old child and engage in sexual activity. At the hotel, he was met by FBI agents and his cell phone was confiscated, court documents say.

In an interview with a CPS special investigator, Warren identified the victim and admitted to sexually assaulting the child, court documents state. He also admitted to possessing CSAM depicting various children between the ages of 0 and 17 engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
