Shreveport woman killed in Coushatta hit-and-run

COUSHATTA, La. (KSLA) – A Shreveport woman was killed when she was struck by a car in Coushatta, Louisiana State Police say.

It happened Monday, Nov. 4 around 8:45 p.m. on Meeks Road near Jenkins Lease Road in Red River Parish, LSP says. As a result, Natalya Leggio, 52, of Shreveport, was killed.

LSP officials say Leggio was sitting near the shoulder of Meeks Road when she was hit by a car. She died at the scene. Police say the driver did not stop or call police to report what happened.

The vehicle involved was identified as a 2013 GMC SUV. Police say William J. Williams, 43, of Coushatta, was driving when he hit Leggio. On Nov. 5, he was arrested and booked into the Red River Parish Detention Center on a felony charge of hit and run.
