The investigation also revealed that Randolph tried to cover up his absence from the conference by using a QR code from another Monterey Police Department officer to report that he had attended training, the Comptroller’s Office said. Tennessee.

“This investigation raises several ethical concerns,” said Controller Mumpower. “By implicating his subordinates in his actions, the chief abused his position and could harm the public’s confidence in the leadership of the department.”

A Putnam County grand jury indicted Randolph on Nov. 4 on seven counts, including: one count of theft of property over $1,000, three counts of official misconduct, one count of forgery over $1,000 dollars, one count of making false statements in government records and one count of violating the Tennessee Personal and Business Computer Act of 2003.
