Suspect arrested in North Jackson Cracker Barrel incident

JACKSON POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE:

Incident at Cracker Barrel Jackson

(Jackson, TN) On November 6, 2024 at approximately 5:30 pm, patrol officers responded to reports of a disturbance with possible shots fired inside the Cracker Barrel located at 188 Vann Drive. At one point, a caller informed dispatch that a five-month-old child had been hit in the head. Upon arrival, patrol officers quickly determined that there was confusion about the actual events as multiple callers from inside the Cracker Barrel provided inconsistent information. Ultimately, it was determined that no shots were fired and no one was seriously injured.

A preliminary investigation determined that a person tried to forcefully remove a 2-month-old baby from its mother’s arms. It was further determined that the suspect was a client of A Plus Care Solutions, an assisted living facility. This person was accompanied to the restaurant by A Plus support staff. Based on the individual’s actions, which were captured on video along with witness statements, the suspect was detained pending an evaluation.

The mother and 2-month-old baby were treated at the scene for minor injuries by Emergency Medical Services and released. This is an ongoing investigation. If anyone has further information regarding this incident please get in touch Jackson Police Department at 731-425-8400.
