The Bayford attacker was jailed after his victim jumped out of a window

A man who “physically, emotionally and psychologically” abused a woman has been jailed for three years and three months and given an eight-year restraining order.

Benjamin Turner, 36, of Willow Corner, Bayford, near Hertford, told his victim he would kill her before she jumped from a first-floor window to escape.

At Huntingdon Crown Court, admitted two counts of threatening to die and charges of coercive and controlling behaviour, unlawful wounding and strangulation.

Police said they were called after Turner assaulted his victim and grabbed her by the neck, telling her he was going to kill her.
