Interstate 70 reopens in Kansas after winter storm

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Kansas Department of Transportation says Interstate 70 has reopened from Colby to Denver, Colorado after a winter storm closed it Wednesday morning. US Highway 36 west of St. Francis to Colorado remains closed.

Earlier in the day, Kansas Department of Transportation Chambers showed snow covering roads west of Goodland, with the National Weather Service in Goodland reporting moderate to heavy snow.

The KSN Storm Track 3 Weather Team says rain will continue in the west, spreading eastward into the evening.

The Colorado Department of Transportation says many roads remain closed and high winds and snow have made them impassable. Those planning to enter the state can check road conditions using COtrip.
