Free Women’s Self Defense Class at Bad Ace Martial Arts

MINOT, ND (KMOT) – Bad Ace Martial Arts in Minot said their goal is to empower women to trust their minds and bodies through a new self-defense class.

“It’s a new way to energize yourself.” That’s what owner and instructor Rodger Martin said the free class is all about.

In addition to learning life-saving skills, he said the classes are also a fun night out for ladies who want to step out of their comfort zone.

Martin said the free classes are open to all women ages 12 and up, with or without experience.

“But if I can give back where, if it saves someone’s life, I think it’s priceless in this matter. Or if they’re able to survive an incident that can scar them or something,” Martin said.

Classes started last Thursday, but there are other sessions including November 7th, 14th and 11th.

Bad Ace has been in Minot since 2005 after Martin moved to the Magic City to play football for Minot State.

“Having hand-eye coordination and agility, things like martial arts can give you, allowed me to get a higher education,” Martin said.
