NORWALK, CT (WFSB) – A 56-year-old Norwalk man was arrested after sexually assaulting a child.

On September 29, 2024, patrol officers were dispatched to a report of a sexual assault on an 8-year-old girl.

The Special Victims Unit began the investigation and found probable cause to arrest Armando Cruz-Zambrano.

On November 5, 2024, Cruz-Zambrano was stopped on East Avenue and arrested without incident.

Cruz-Zambrano was charged with first-degree sexual assault, unlawful sexual contact with a victim under 16, third-degree assault and interfering with an emergency call.

He is currently out on a $2,00,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on November 19, 2024.
