Ohio Co. grandmother who was found dead now in jail on child abuse and drug charges

OHIO CO., Ky. (WFIE) – Taletha Tucker, grandmother of baby Miya Rudd, was booked into an Ohio prison Wednesday.

The 50-year-old is charged with criminal abuse of a child 12 years of age or younger, endangerment of a controlled substance to a child and hindering prosecution or apprehension.

We have reached out to the Kentucky State Police for information on the charges.

As I reported, Taletha Tucker was arrested in Daviess County back in June on the warrant.

It happened during the investigation into Miya’s disappearance, but troopers say they found nothing related to the case at the time.

Miya had been missing for several weeks before police said her remains were found in her family’s home in Reynolds Station.

Miya’s parents, Tesla Tucker and Cage Rudd, were among seven people arrested during the investigation.

Cops say Taletha’s new arrest is because she was granted custody of Tesla’s children but violated a court order and allowed them to stay with Tesla.

Police say the children’s hair samples tested positive for methamphetamine and marijuana.

They also say they learned that Taletha gave a large sum of money to Tesla and Cage so they could avoid being apprehended and begin this investigation.
