Morning fog, increasing rain in the afternoon

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Get ready for a pretty dreary and wet day in North Georgia.

The morning will begin with some dense patchy fog and temperatures in the 60s.

The area should remain mostly dry until around noon, but rain coverage will increase through the early afternoon into the evening.

South and east Atlanta will get the best chance for rain today, with areas north of the city expecting more isolated showers.

A flood watch is in effect for some of our southeastern counties, including Jasper, Putnam, Morgan and Greene counties, where flash flooding is possible this afternoon through Thursday.

Temperatures today and for the remainder of the 7-day forecast will remain unseasonably warm in the low to mid 70s.

Mornings will also remain on the mild side in early November, with morning lows in the upper 60s.

The forecast will remain uncertain with scattered showers possible through early next week.
