The principal of Kiboga school was arrested for defiling four students

Police in Kiboga District have arrested a director of a certain vocational institute and a reverend of All Saints Church over allegations of aggravated defilement and rape of four female students.

The incidents happened between June and October 2024 at the institute, located in the Bamușuta cell, Kiboga town hall.

According to Wamala Regional Police Spokesperson, SP Racheal Kawala, preliminary findings indicate that the suspect allegedly defiled the victims at different intervals at his residence, church and school.

“Preliminary findings indicate that the suspect allegedly defiled the victims at various intervals at his residence, church and school. The victims, all females between the ages of 16 and 18, underwent medical examinations,” SP Kawala said.

Medical examinations revealed that one of the victims is pregnant.

“We take these allegations very seriously and are working hard to ensure justice is served,” she said.

The suspect was rescued by the police on Wednesday after angry parents attacked him at his home and is currently detained at Kiboga Police Station while investigations continue.

This case highlights the ongoing concern of defilement in Uganda, particularly among young girls and boys. The Ugandan police force has worked to address these cases, with contamination remaining a significant problem in the country.

The 2023 Uganda Police Annual Crime Report, released in February 2024, paints a disturbing picture of rising cases of contamination across the country. According to the report, defilement remains a significant concern in Uganda, predominantly targeting vulnerable young girls and, in some cases, boys.

This alarming trend, along with other sex crimes, remains a top priority for law enforcement agencies dealing with persistently high numbers reported in various districts.
