COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Colorado Springs Police and Fountain Police said they were on crash alert Tuesday night due to slippery road conditions.

A crash alert is activated when a police department anticipates receiving a high volume of car crashes and, due to severe weather, is unable to respond to all of them. When crash alert is activated, the police will only respond to a collision if a car cannot be driven due to damage, the crash involves death or injury requiring medical attention, alcohol or drugs are involved, the crash is a suspected hit-and-run. , or if there is damage to public property, other than wildlife.

Police ask drivers to report an accident within 72 hours.
