Donald Trump won the support of Rutherford County with 88,748 votes to 56,600 for Democrat Kamala Harris, with all 30 polling centers reporting.

The Rutherford County Board of Elections will certify election results in Rutherford during a meeting on November 25 at 5:00 p.m. at the board office in downtown Murfreesboro.

Rutherford County ballots offered 46 candidates to consider, including seven running for president.

Citizens also voted for federal and state legislative seats: US Senate, US House of Representatives District 4, Tennessee District 14 Senateand Tennessee House of Representatives for the 13 districts34, 37, 48 and 49.

“I want to exercise my voice,” said Murfreesboro voter Karen Daingerfield, who wanted a change in national leadership and voted for Republican Donald Trump.

Rutherford voters who live within the Smyrna, La Vergne and Eagleville boundaries will elect candidates for four-year terms for local government legislative seats: council members for Smyrna and Eagleville; and councilors for La Vergne.
