Disruption at Rhode Island polling place leads to arrest, police said

A 33-year-old man was arrested after a disturbance at a polling place in Rhode Island on Tuesday, according to authorities.

The Coventry Police Department said it received a report of a man disturbing voters and political supporters at Maple Root Baptist Church around 10:15 a.m.

The church is a registered polling place for Coventry.

Police said Timothy Masse, 33, allegedly confronted voters, political supporters and election staff shouting obscenities and vulgar remarks.

Masse continued the behavior after officers arrived, and police said he was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Police said Masse will be arraigned before a bail commissioner.
