Queen Camilla cancels appearances as she battles chest infection

Queen Camilla has canceled scheduled public appearances this week as he battles a chest infection.

“Her Majesty the Queen is currently unwell with a chest infection for which her doctors have recommended a short period of rest,” a Buckingham Palace spokesman said. confirmed in a statement to the BBC on Tuesday 5 November. “It is with great regret that Her Majesty has therefore had to withdraw from her engagements for this week, but very much hopes that she will be recovered in time to attend this weekend’s Remembrance events as normal.”

The BBC added that Camilla, 77, is resting at home under the supervision of a doctor.

Camilla and her husband, King Charles IIIwere also set to host a reception for Olympic and Paralympic athletes on Thursday, but she will not be in attendance.

This coming weekend is an important one for the royal family as senior members are set to step out for the National Service of Remembrance ceremony at the Cenotaph in Whitehall on Sunday 10 November. The ceremony is set to mark Remembrance Day, which recognized the armistice. The day, to commemorate the end of the First World War.

While it is unclear if Camilla will be in attendance pending the current status of her chest infection, it was previously reported that Princess Kate Middleton will make an appearance on Sunday.

The Princess of Wales begins her return to public duties months after announcing in September that she had completed chemotherapy. (Kate, 42, announced in March that she had been diagnosed with a undisclosed type of cancer.)
