The collision happened between the junctions of Beechcroft Road and Oakthorpe Road.

The man was arrested on suspicion of fraudulently using a registration, failing to stop following a collision and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Sgt Tony Jenkins from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “This collision happened on a busy stretch of the Banbury Road during the morning rush hour and resulted in the road being closed for much of Monday. -open.

“Unfortunately, a boy suffered serious injuries in the collision.”

He appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward.
