ICE Houston deported 25 illegals convicted of child sex crimes to the US last month

More than two dozen illegal immigrants convicted of at least one child sex offense were deported in October, according to ICE’s Houston Field Office (ERO Houston).

Among 25 child sex offenders deported last month were illegal immigrants with gang affiliations, multiple deportations and multiple convictions for various crimes.

“The 25 non-citizens that ERO Houston removed last month entered the country illegally and then proceeded to prey on the innocence and vulnerability of our children,” Bret Bradford, ERO Houston office director, said in a news release.

While the office did not release the names of the offenders, they did share details about 10 of the people deported.

In early October, ERO Houston deported two Salvadoran citizens; a 27-year-old man convicted of sexual assault of a child, resisting arrest and providing false information to law enforcement, and a 58-year-old man, twice deported, convicted of aggravated sexual assault of a child and illegal re-entry.

Fourteen days later, on October 16, a 37-year-old twice-deported Mexican man who is a documented member of the Paisas gang was removed with previous convictions for lewd acts on a child under 14 years and illegal re-entry. .

Another 37-year-old twice-deported Mexican national convicted of sexual indecency with a child and sexual assault of a child was removed on the same day.

On October 17, ERO Houston removed a 50-year-old Mexican national who has been deported three times and has been convicted of sexual indecency with a child, trafficking cocaine, two DWIs, assault, illegal weapons possession and illegal re-entry.

A 44-year-old documented Colonia Durango gang member from Mexico was deported Oct. 18 with prior convictions for aggravated sexual assault of a minor, sexual indecency with a child and theft (twice).

On Oct. 22, a 33-year-old twice-deported Ecuadorian national convicted of illegal surveillance/installation of a sexual arousal imaging device with intent to injure a child under 17 and illegal re-entry was removed.

The next day, a 52-year-old twice-deported Salvadoran national was cleared with convictions for indecent liberties with a child, DWI, assault on a government employee, assault and illegal re-entry.

To end the month, two Guatemalan nationals were removed on October 28; a 20-year-old convicted of sexual indecency with a child under 14 and a 30-year-old twice deported convicted of incest with a minor under 13 and illegal re-entry.

Bradford said his immigration officers He “lives and raises families in this community” and “takes it personally to protect the residents of Southeast Texas from dangerous criminal non-citizens like this.”

“Last month’s results are just another example of their unwavering commitment to apprehending and eliminating threats to public safety to protect our communities from harm and restore the integrity of our nation’s immigration system,” Bradford said.

ERO Houston is responsible for immigration law enforcement in 52 of Texas’ 254 counties. The office covers operations for the most part southeast texas, stretching from Shelby and Hill counties to Refugio and Live Oak counties.
