LOCK HAVEN — The Commonwealth University-Lock Haven Criminal Justice Club recently held its inaugural law enforcement-themed community event on Oct. 26 in the East Campus Science Center parking lot.

The event featured police officers from the Woodward Township Police Department, Pine Creek Township Police Department and CU-Lock Haven University Police, giving attendees a unique opportunity to meet the officers and explore their cars up close, while collecting candies from creatively decorated trunks, painting. pumpkins and bobbing for apples.

“This was the first time we have hosted such an event and we are delighted with the excellent turnout,” said club president Ashton Peters.

Attendees were also encouraged to bring canned goods as an entry donation to benefit the Haven Cupboard, the university’s student food pantry.

Criminal Justice Club members and helpers for the event included Peters, of Lock Haven; Jaime Daggett, of Bellport, NY; Aarilin Pitre, of Bellport, NY; Avery Arthofer, of Northampton; and Abby Gilson, of Smithville; alumna Tiffany Brungart and her sister Aria Bryan; club advisors Dr. Edward Bowman and Dr. Michael McSkimming and officers Greg Drollinger, Tyler Fields, Thayne Muthler and Dave Winkleman.
