Jason Kelce apologizes for role in incident involving Heckler’s homophobic slur

Jason Kelce apologized on his part for o incident was involved on weekends with an unruly fan.

The former Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro was in Pennsylvania on Saturday when he appeared on ESPN’s “College GameDay” before the Ohio State vs. Penn State matching Images from social networks showed Kelce walking through a crowd near Beaver Stadium as several people asked for selfies and recognized him. However, a person wearing a Penn State hoodie hurled anti-LGTBQ slurs at Kelce about his brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

“Hey Kelce! How does your brother feel about dating Taylor Swift?” the person shouted.

Kelce is back, he took the fan’s phone and shoved it into the ground before picking up the phone and continuing to walk. Another video shared on social media shows the fan chasing Kelce and saying “give me the phone.” Kelce then responded, “Who’s the (expletive) now?”

Jason Kelce: ‘I’m not proud’ of incident

Now an analyst on ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown,” Kelce apologized for his role in the incident before the Chiefs vs. Monday night’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

“Everybody saw on social media everything that happened this week,” Kelce said. “Look, I’m not happy with anything that happened. I’m not proud of it. In the heat of the moment, I chose to meet hate with hate, and I just don’t think that’s a productive thing to do.

“At that point, I fell to a level I shouldn’t have.”

Kelce added that he tries to live his life treating people with decency and respect and that he “didn’t live up to expectations.”

The Super Bowl 52 champion is in Kansas City for ESPN’s coverage of the game, which includes his brother dating pop icon Swift.
