Charity Says WWE’s Jacob Fatu Has Issued ‘Sincere Apology’ For 2023 Cheating Incident

Jake’s Network of Hope officially addressed Jacob Fatu by not hosting a professional wrestling fundraiser last year. The non-profit organization, which aims to help people of all ages with hygiene products and essentials for everyday life, paid $2,633 for his appearance, plane tickets and hotel accommodation, but Fatu canceled- citing a “family emergency.” He was asked to return the money, which he had not done.

The issue was picked up on November 3rd in a Reddit thread, prompting a response from the user who originally posted the story last year. “My wife was working at the time for the non-profit, Jake’s Network of Hope in Appleton/Neenah Wisconsin. No, unfortunately, he did not pay the charity back.” Jake’s Hope Network has since addressed the incident, via “Sports Illustrated”, explaining that they are in the process of working things out.

“Jacob Fatu and our organization are addressing this matter privately, beginning with a phone call and sincere apology in May,” the statement read. “Although the full amount owed has not yet been repaid, we appreciated Jacob’s recognition. It can be hard to face your mistakes and we commend him for taking steps to deal with this situation.”

Fatu is a prominent member of the “WWE SmackDown” roster as part of Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline, playing a pivotal role in Sikoa’s victory over Roman Reigns at the WWE Crown Jewel event last weekend. He deactivated his X account when the incident came to light once more, but from the charity’s statement, the account appears to be active again.
