West Fargo Veterans Day and Thanksgiving Day Closures and Garbage Schedule Changes in 2024

WEST FARGO, ND (Valley News Live) – The City of West Fargo is closed Monday, November 11th for Veterans Day. Garbage and recycling collection will be delayed by one day throughout the week.

On Monday, November 11, all municipal government buildings are closed to the public, including City Hall, the Public Library, Sanitation, Public Works and the Transfer Station. Public safety agencies are in full operation, but the West Fargo police and fire buildings are closed to the public for the day.

The City of West Fargo has three locations for residents who would like to honor veterans on Veterans Day. The POW/MIA Plaza, located at 400 Sheyenne Street, is a public park that recognizes POWs and those missing in action near West Fargo VFW Post #7564. Maplewood Park, located at 1504 17th Avenue E., is home to the Veterans Memorial in memory of those who have served. The 4th Street E. Tree Dedication, north of 31st Avenue E. near Maple Ridge Park, features trees planted in dedication to local fallen heroes.

Thanksgiving Closings and Garbage Schedule Changes

The City of West Fargo is closed Thursday, November 28 – Friday, November 29 for the Thanksgiving holiday. There will be no trash or recycling collection on Thursday, November 28. Thursday’s recycling collection will take place on Friday, November 29.
