Akron Family Dollar robbery suspect leaves on bike after stealing laundry detergent, police say

AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) – An Akron Family Dollar was robbed Friday night, according to Akron Police.

Around 5:45 p.m., officers were called to a Family Dollar in the 500 block of Cuyahoga Falls Avenue for a robbery, according to a release.

When officers arrived, a store clerk reported that he went to investigate an alarm that had gone off in the back of the store.

The clerk told officers he saw an unidentified man leave on a bicycle with a bag full of laundry detergent and other merchandise from the store, according to the release.

The clerk also reported to police that the suspect pointed a gun at him before running away.

According to police, the suspect was last seen on a bicycle traveling westbound on East Cuyahoga Falls.

The suspect was last seen wearing a dark hooded jacket with white trim and blue jeans, according to a release.
