Police Department Recognizes “Police Records Personnel Week”

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) – It’s National Law Enforcement Personnel Week.

The Grand Junction Police Department is celebrating its record staff Nov. 4-8. The team has achieved master certification through the Colorado Certified Records Network and is important to police department operations.

The records team is responsible for many things that impact public safety. They keep and maintain police records and data. It also handles open records requests. They processed more than 10,000 cases and approximately 5,000 open records requests in 2023.

“The Grand Junction Police Records Unit is the backbone of our agency,” said GJPD Civilian Manager Amber Peck. “Their dedication and commitment to excellence makes a significant difference to our department and community every day.”
