TV star admits she was told she didn’t ‘push well’ in sex scene after receiving criticism on set – TV

Actor Jackson White opened up about filming intimate scenes on the set of one of TV’s hottest shows today, and some tips he’s gotten while doing one.

The American the actor is known for playing manipulator Stephen DeMarco on the Hulu drama series, tell me lies.

Set in 2007, it follows the series college students Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) and DeMarco and their twisted, complicated and toxic love over the course of eight years.

It has all the makings of a good binge-watch, and if you haven’t heard of it yet, check it out here:

Its first season hit screens in 2022, with the much-anticipated second season dropping in September this year, having been a consistent hit with critics and currently boasting a 75% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

And as if it wasn’t hot enough to watch on the screen, with all the fogging relationsthe main actors, Van Patten and White, are actually together in real life.

The former recently settled down with none other than his own parentKatey Sagal and stepfather Kurt Sutter to talk about what it’s like to shoot hot and heavy scenes on set with his girlfriend and the awkward feedback he once received.

White was a guest on their “Pie.” podcastsas the 28-year-old revealed, detailing how it all works: “You have a sex coordinator — an intimacy coordinator — that would line up with a week. So it would be like a week of sex and there would be sex scenes all day long.”

He said there would be “sexy days” where the privacy coordinator would “run from one set to another” because more than one sex scene would be filmed at a time.

Sutter asked if the “sex coordinator” would be the one teaching him “how to do it” for the cameras, to which the actor had a humorous response.

The 28-year-old shared: “Someone said, ‘He’s not pushing well.’ I said, “How?” They say, “Well, he is, he doesn’t seem to be in.”

“So we have to make it more realistic,” he shared.

White went on to describe that when performing a “body rolling” motion in a sex scene, he was told to do a “more stationary” motion in the scene.

Showrunner Meaghan Oppenheimer apparently shared the notes with him, and while Sutter joked that he had “four pages of notes, the actor insisted, ‘I’ve been working on it, and I … I made it.’

Sagal and Sutter loved the story and were in tears over it.

White went on to explain, “Well, when you’re doing a sex scene, you don’t want to be, like, all s***,” which is a fair point.

Although White and Van Patten tried to play down their off-screen relationship, the latter revealed that they put a little more effort into it TO The Hollywood Reporter this year, saying that while their relationship is “there,” she thinks “not much” is on the show.

“I think just treating our relationship professionally, the way we treat it in our own lives, is the best way to do that,” she explained, after saying she didn’t want to fuel the “clickbait” nature of the show.
