Chance of rain and snow in Arizona this weekend

PHOENIX — The next fall storm moving into Arizona tonight brings a wintry mix to northern Arizona and a slight chance for scattered showers in the Valley.

We’re tracking cooler air, strong winds and a chance of rain and snow across our state late Saturday into early Monday.

Temperatures will drop into the mid 70s here in the Valley on Sunday.

Rain chances will start this evening and increase overnight.

Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are possible with up to a tenth of an inch of rain in parts of the Valley throughout Sunday.

Across the country, snow levels will start around 9,000 feet Saturday night before dropping to 5,500 feet Sunday morning into Monday morning. Flagstaff could pick up 1-2 inches of snow by early Monday morning.

We’ll dry out in time for Election Day, but another storm system will hit our state by the middle of next week.

Stay tuned for updates on this one as we get closer.
