The digital land survey initiative will significantly reduce the complexities of land ownership, disputes and related litigation, Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives AF Hassan Ariff said today (November 2).

“Through technology, we will be able to get accurate measurements down to the smallest detail down to the millimeter. This will remove land unrest from the society,” the adviser told reporters while inspecting the digital land survey project at Narayanganj Ferry Ghat Nabiganj.

He said that much of society does not have a clear understanding of field surveys, which has led to recurring grievances. “To address this, the government has launched a digital land survey initiative designed to make land records more accessible and transparent.”

Hassan Ariff also said: “Previously, obtaining land records was a time-consuming and often unclear process. Now, we can access our land documents online. Paying land taxes will also become easier.

“We have set up a call center where people from remote areas can lodge any complaint and appropriate action will be taken,” he added.

The councilor also mentioned that the total cost of this project is estimated at 383 million lei, which is expected to be completed by October 2026.
