As part of the new initiative of the government, your traffic problem in Delhi region will be as easy as using WhatsApp. The Delhi government has announced that traffic complaints along with detailed information will be sent directly to offenders using WhatsApp. This new system will allow residents to view and pay their traffic fines instantly to ensure a more efficient and user-friendly experience. Here’s everything you need to know:

Instant notifications and easy payments on WhatsApp

Currently, tolls can be paid online through the Department for Transport website or app.

However, many people miss the notices and are unaware of their fines. The WhatsApp-based service was introduced to address this gap by instantly notifying users and allowing them to resolve their appeals (fines) through a simple link that was provided in the message.

Perfect system for authorities and public

Once implemented, the new system will bring convenience to both the public and the authorities. The traffic police and transport department will be able to manage notifications, reminders and challan receipts more effectively.

It has been reported that about 1,000 to 1,500 vehicles in Delhi are fined for traffic violations every day. WhatsApp integration will simplify this process and reduce the manual workload for enforcement agencies.

Additional services in progress

Apart from the WhatsApp service, the Transport Department plans to make the driving license process completely online. Users will soon be able to apply for or renew their licenses without having to visit the transport office, making it easier for residents to access essential services.
