PICKENS, SC (FOX Carolina) – The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office said a man was arrested after assaulting an employee at the Dollar General in Pickens on Friday.

According to the sheriff’s office, the incident happened at the Dollar General located at 2505 Walhalla Highway at 10:50 a.m.

Deputies said they were called to the scene of the attack, but the suspect had already left on foot before they arrived.

They searched the area but did not find the suspect.

An investigation led to the suspect being identified as Darell Allen Findley, 39, of Anderson.

Findley was located in the area of ​​Terrapin Cross Road and arrested a few hours later, just before 7:00 p.m., on an assault and aggravated battery charge.

He is being held at the Pickens County Detention Center.
