A new era of support for education and EdTech

Jisc joins techUK, providing specialist support to schools, colleges and trusts in cyber security and digital strategy. Find out how this partnership is set to drive impactful change in the education sector.

We are delighted to announce that Jisc has officially joined member techUK, marking an important moment for our Education and EdTech Programme. This partnership not only strengthens the techUK community, but provides an opportunity to amplify Jisc’s vital work in the education sector and beyond.

At a time when industry leaders are urgently seeking advice with actionable solutions, Jisc’s role becomes essential. With the education landscape still lacking the central leadership that BECTA once provided, Jisc is well placed to provide the stability and strategic direction that the sector desperately needs, particularly around the use of technology. Their work in cybersecurity highlights this, filling a critical void for institutions navigating a complex and often fragmented digital environment.

At the sharp end of this fragmentation is a precarious sector-wide cybersecurity posture within K12 education. Without a unified, united approach, schools and trusts are left vulnerable to increasing cyber threats. Jisc, however, brings expertise to address these vulnerabilities, as demonstrated in these case study with E-ACT Multi-Academy Trust.

Looking ahead, Jisc is taking proactive steps to help education providers improve their cyber security. On November 5, Jisc will host a webinar entitled “Security and savings: Optimizing Microsoft Defender XDR in your organization.” This session is designed to guide IT decision makers, CIOs, CTOs, and security professionals through optimizing Microsoft Defender XDR for improved cybersecurity and cost savings. Attendees will learn practical steps to better secure their environments, reduce costs and maximize profits. of their Microsoft licenses With Richard Jackson, head of cloud security at Jisc, leading the session, attendees will learn about best practices, common pitfalls and new Defender XDR services from Jisc.

Jisc’s entry into techUK comes at a critical time for the education sector, where the demand for robust and cohesive technology strategies has never been greater. By joining forces with techUK, we are excited to help shape the future of educational technology and technology in education.
