According to Dagpatrollie’s Arthur Hill, his response team responded to the scene at approximately 01:15 on Wednesday on the N4, 51km from Middelburg, near Delmas.

Upon their arrival, they encountered three vehicles, the occupants of which had all been robbed at gunpoint.

The three vehicles were traveling in a convoy when the first vehicle hit spikes, stopping it.
The other two vehicles then stopped to assist when a group of suspects, all armed, ambushed them and robbed them of their valuables.

“The woman driving the vehicle in front was left traumatized and could not say how many suspects were involved. They threatened to shoot and assault the victims and fled with mobile phones and laptops among other valuables.”

According to Hill, the ordeal was over and the thieves ran away until they arrived.

“We assisted the victims and dispatched Delmas SAPS who took over from there.”

Hill says a white VW Polo is believed to be involved again.
