BGSU poll shows races tightening ahead of Election Day

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A new one POLL from Bowling Green State University shows that races in Ohio are tightening as Election Day approaches.

It is the second poll BGSU has released during this election year.

The October poll of 1,000 likely voters still shows former President Donald Trump with a healthy lead over Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump leads 50%-43% in the October poll. He won Ohio by eight points in 2016 and 2020.

Ohio’s US Senate race is closer than it was in September’s BGSU poll. The October poll showed Republican Bernie Moreno within two points of Democratic incumbent Sen. Sherrod Brown. The senator’s 47%-45% lead is within the poll’s margin of error. 7% of voters in that contest were undecided.

The September poll had Brown leading 49%-45%.

The poll also asked potential voters about how celebrities influence their vote, the issues that are most important to them when they vote and their thoughts on redistricting reform in Ohio. proposal “Number 1.”

Josh Croup talks with 13 Action News political analyst and BGSU politics professor Dr. Melissa Miller about the poll on Action News Now. Watch the full interview in the video player above.
