CHICAGO — A well-known South Side restaurant was broken into overnight.

Chicago police said three people broke a front window at Ricobene, located in the Armor Square neighborhood in the 200 block of West 26th Street, around 2:30 a.m. Thursday.

According to police, the three suspects were armed and took the cash register before fleeing the scene. Police also say three women were in the restaurant at the time of the break-in, although it was closed. None of them were injured.

Police are classifying the crime as a burglary, rather than a robbery, because it doesn’t appear the suspects knew anyone was in the restaurant when they entered.
