Luke Williams: Swansea City will come with the help of a football ‘driving test’

They have dropped to 17th in the table, failing to win in six league games despite having one of the division’s best defensive records.

Swansea have not been beaten by more than a goal this season, leaving Williams to wonder how much better their position would be if his players had been sharper in front of goal.

“I think it’s fair to say the team looks organized and they know what they’re trying to do,” he said.

“I think it’s fair to say the players seem motivated and I think it’s fair to say we’re very competitive in games.

“There are small margins in games where we could have scored more points.”

Swansea will again be without Eom, who has a knee problem, plus long-term absentees Andy Fisher, Sam Parker and Oxford’s Josh Ginnelly.

Defender Kristian Pedersen is back in contention after injury, although he is unlikely to break into a defense that is almost picking itself at the moment.

To begin with, at least, the focus at the Kassam Stadium will once again be on Swansea’s attacking players.

“These lads are so desperate to do well, score goals and help the club, they need to relax a bit more in the big moments,” Williams added.

“It’s a group of young players, especially at the top of the pitch, and they will do well for us.”
