Girls education will solve 90% of Nigeria’s problems – Uba Michael

An advocate of good governance, Chief Uba Michael, called for more attention on girls’ education, saying it was one of the ways out of Nigeria’s problems.

Michael said this at the 25th anniversary celebration of the Foundation for the Eradication of Trafficking in Women and Child Labor held in Abuja.

DAILY POST reports that the US State Department in a 2024 report on human trafficking, the Nigerian government has not fully met the minimum standard to eliminate trafficking but is making significant efforts to do so.

Chief Michael, who is the Managing Director of the UBACLE Group, called on governments at all levels to prioritize the empowerment of girls and women as this would in turn reduce the level of poverty drastically.

He said: “I am delighted and honored to partner with WOTCLEF, recognizing the organisation’s enduring contributions to supporting girls, training and educating women and combating human trafficking.

“I strongly believe that empowering girls through education will solve 90% of our nation’s problems. I am committed to unwavering support for women’s rights until they achieve their rightful status.

“I want to sincerely appreciate HE Mrs. Titi Atiku Abubakar for her unwavering commitment to the little girl and also congratulate her on her 25th anniversary of WOTCLEF.”
